The event is full with almost 300 registrations, so unfortunately we cannot accept registrations any more.
At the end of July 2012, the Games of the XXXth Olympiad will begin in London. This is the world's foremost sport competition, which centres the globe's attention on a small group of athletes trying to accomplish their lifetime dream of becoming Olympic champions. During these 17 days everybody will speak about results, scores or records. Nevertheless today's sport also has serious legal implications, which are equally important and sometimes even overshadow the actual athletic performances. Therefore, just 10 months before the official opening ceremony of the Games it seems to be ideal to discuss the various issues of sport and law in the ambit of an international conference.
This conference, to be held at Budapest on the 29th and 30th of September 2011, will try to provide a venue for sports law practitioners to cover different legal topics related to sport. The conference will be divided into two separate parts, dealing with the competition law aspects of sport on the first day, while covering general sports law issues on the second day. The selection of speakers guarantees that a wide range of problems will be touched upon with the possibility to show different perspectives.
We would recommend this conference to all stakeholders of national or international sport, who are interested in the present legal issues of sport and also to all others who just want to get a better understanding of the sometimes complex and mysterious legal questions surrounding athletes, events or championships.
The language of the conference is English and Hungarian with simultaneous translation.
